A teacher’s most valuable resources are the tiniest dancers who toddle through the door. Teaching and keeping them is one of the foremost challenges of dance education.
Veteran studio owner and teacher, Toni Noblett, will guide you through those first daunting days of class with advice and ideas that are practical, honest, and inventive. This video will give you the basic tools to plan a curriculum that features creative movement as the initial course of study for beginning dancers.
It features games that will equip the youngest students to function in next year’s tap, ballet, or jazz dance class, and it encourages you to allow children to be children for at least another year.
Toni Noblett’s background in dance education is substantial. For twenty-six years she ran a studio in Roxboro, North Carolina where dance classes for children and adults were crafted to instil an appreciation for the arts, self-discipline and respect. Classes included children with special needs, and these children became her mentors.
Since 1989 Ms. Noblett has been on the staff of Jacques d’Amboise’s National Dance Institute in New York City. In 1998 she conceived and locally produced a project featured on CBS’s “Sunday Morning with Bill Geist.”
She has taught children’s tap at BDC, and presently teaches for Rosie O’Donnell’s “Rosie’s Broadway Kids.” Her two children, Casey Noblett Callahan and Cassidy Noblett, are professional dancers and respected teachers.

Being bullied is a nightmare for a kid and how you handle it will make all the difference for your child. The first rule is to run away; the second rule is to use your words; the third ... you learn Self-Defense.
Bully 911 is a unique DVD developed by Seventh Degree Black Belt holder Johnny Gyro and Noel Gyro. This empowering DVD is simple to learn, easy to use and designed to make children feel considerably more confident when coping with bullies by teaching them the tools to escape without getting hurt.
Simple techniques will be taught (no martial arts experience necessary) to allow children to defend against chokeholds, hair pulling, arm grabs, and more. As parents, we are expected to have all the answers for our children, especially when it comes to their well-being. Unfortunately, many parents do not have any experience when it comes to teaching their children what to do to protect themselves when Mom or Dad cannot be there to help them.
Noel and Johnny Gyro have spent years working with children and parents to provide viable, sensible, and easy to learn options to the prevalent problem of bullying. Johnny and Noel hear the same concerns and fears from parents year after year. This is why BULLY 911 is for you!
With years of hands-on experience with their own children plus the thousands of children that they have taught over the years, Johnny and Noel provide viable answers, options, and solutions for you and your child. The DVD includes a bonus feature with an extensive forum on bullies and bullying that addresses all issues of bullying with parents, kids, and child psychologists and provides defense techniques for victims to defend themselves from bullies, when all else fails.
Re-energize your students with these fun, contemporary dance routines! The Fit Kids Classroom Workout can be used in any school space, anytime, any day to invigorate and motivate your students. • Hip & Happening Kardio Funk
• Drum Beating, Foot Stomping African
• Shimmy, Shaking & Loving Latin
• Heart Pounding, Arms Pumping Aerobic Dance.
The two 10-minute choreographed workouts—“Getting Funky” and “Loving African” — link the moves that have been taught during the four shorter workouts, while the six healthy messages provide basic information about the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

Tahitian Dance is the most exciting and popular of all Polynesian dances. In recent years more and more people are realizing that the original dance of grass skirts swishing to the rapid rhythm of drums is the Tahitian dance instead of the hula!
This is a FUN instructional video for the boy and girl dancer. Now anyone can learn how to dance Tahitian, the "Ori Tahiti", in these easy step-by-step lessons. Mirror-imaging concept is used in this DVD. The student will be learning by following the movements of the instructor as if looking into a mirror. Each step is taught with music which conditions the student to feel rhythm.
The lessons progress from simple movements to those of increased difficulty. Dances of Tahiti features two main types of dances that every dancer should know; Aparima: story telling by music and lyrics; and Ote'a: dance expressions by rhythmic drum beating. You will learn three dance routines and four basic steps. Each song is taught by a verse or phrase at a time. The music and dance are slowed down for easier learning, then the entire dance is done at performance speed.
See also Dances of Tahiti for Everyone.
Put on your grass skirt and hula with the best of them. This video teaches the hula with three easy step-by-step lessons, each a little more challenging than the last. Surrounded by the lush and beautiful scenery of Hawaii, the skilled hula instructor will encourage your child to feel the rhythm of the music as they dance to the traditional hula songs, "Kaholo-Hula", "Pearly Shells", and "Hukilau".
Melissa Lowe encourages children to have fun as they clap, sing and move to music, to make faces and imagine. They use scarves and hula hoops to appreciate lightness and roundness, balls and bean bags to learn balance and coordination.
Through games and improvisation, the children develop self-awareness and come to appreciate their expressive potential. This class will improve body awareness and foster self-confidence, emphasizing motor skills development and coordination, limbering and muscle-toning. This is as much for music readiness as it is for dance.
